i heard it can cause UTI but i also know many that do use it.Is it ok for little girls to have bubble baths?
Hello:
Actually,it is much healthier and better if little girls take a shower, because they are not soaking in bubbles,or dirty water for extended periods of time! I asked my doctor about this since I have a little girl, and I was right, showers are better for little girls than baths are! My doctor told me that showers believe it or not,get children cleaner, and there is less chance of a UTI because the little girls are sitting in perfumed soap (bubble bath) water too! Alot of times bubble bath can cause irritation to a little girl, therefore causing UTI's. I hope that I have answered your question clearly and I hope that I didn't confuse you too much??Is it ok for little girls to have bubble baths?
My daughter has had several bubble baths, and no UTI's, she is now three. She will love the bubbles! Have Fun!
yes it is ok, just keep buying it in the childrens aisle. you dont want anything that has perfume in it. and make sure she doesnt itch or burn when she takes a bath
I had bubble baths when I was little and I was fine.
My ex father in law works as a urology tech at the mayo clinic and he advised us to keep any bubble baths to a minimum as they can cause UTI's. We have followed his advice and neither of my girls 9 and 4 have ever had one, not that it's a scientific study or anything...just one moms experience.
It is not recommended for that reason.
You answered your own ?.
Link below explores this:
I heard it causes them too. I did buy a box of Mr. Bubble though once and it was a big hit.
If you read the directions and put the recommended bubbles in the tub it should be fine. I took a zillion bubble baths and never had a UTI.
I gave my girls bubble baths (gentle bubble bath) but I made sure to rinse off their privates real good afterward. They never had a problem.
That's why I use scented liquid hand soap. I put a little in the water as it's running into the tub, and my children nor I ever had a problem.
It is generally advised by pediatricians to avoid bubble baths when little girls are younger not just because of UTI's but candida or yeast infections as well. You may want to call a pediatrician's office and ask about a hypoallergenic bubble bath. ( the doctor may still say no) I have alot of friends whose little girls take bubble baths without problems, but why chance it. I know, I know, they love bubbles !!!
Why risk it if you don't have to? Just because others have used it and not had problems doesn't mean your daughter will not have a UTI.
Blow bubbles in the tub instead.
If you use a bubble bath designed for babies/little kids it should be fine. Just watch that it doesnt irritate her skin though, I have distinct memory of having a bubble bath when little and it stinging my genitals.
yes, u can let her in, use a safe knd tho. l'oreal kids or johnsons and johnsons
well it depends on the age of the child..and the type of bubble bath you are using...for a child under 5-6 i have always used Gerber or Johnson %26amp; Johnson bath wash...it's a mild soap that doesn't irritate the skin. but if you swish it around real good will make a pretty good collection of bubbles to play in.
I would say unless your child is sensitive to the bubbles or has had issues in the past go ahead and use them. They make them better now than they did a few years ago with less harsh ingredients. Good luck and I hope this helps.
i have always took bubble baths and never ever had any troubles.
but i have heard it can cause uti's. i guess it just depends on the body's make-up or something.
