you dont need any lotions, powder etc until the baby is 6 months old, however, i have had to shampoo my son's hair since he was born cause he has heaps of it, and if he does a smelly poo i'll put a bit of powder on him
other than that, you dont use anything, unless you notice she has really dry skin then obvioulsy put some lotion on her, but you shouldnt need to until she is at least three months old, let her skin recover naturally so her body knows what to do
if i use powder, baby bath, lotion i use Johnson and JohnsonHow to take good care of the new born baby girls skin. what to use for her bath. which powder to use?
Well when I bath my little one I use Johnsons Newborn Liquid Baby Bath, its very light and smells nice!! Apart from that I don't use anything, when she had nappy rash I used E45 cream, its a special nappy one and it worked wonders, the nappy rash was gone in two days completely and hasn't come back since! With regards to powder, the hospital told me not to use any as the dust isn't good for your little ones lungs. In the hospital when they showed us how to bath the little ones they used a very mild liquid soap and their hands to rub it on, I use a natural baby sponger, oh and I don't wash her hair at all yet, just water!
I wash her every few days in the baby tub with oatmeal baby soap. I use it on her hair too. No powder but a dab of lotion on the dry/peely spots.
No powder - it's completely unnecessary and it dangerous for baby's lungs.
i used anything by johnson's and johnson's , from body wash to powder
