Why don't girls bleed in the bath?

my daughter is 11 and has just started her period when i told her that she needs to ensure she baths at least once a day and wash regulary she got really confused at the fact that the bath would not fill with blood. i told her that this wont happen but she wants to know why and i just dont know.Why don't girls bleed in the bath?
because whilst it looks alot of blood it actually isnt and certainly isnt enough blood loss to turn the water red. it doesnt pour out of her, it's a slow trickle. see if that helps.Why don't girls bleed in the bath?
The amount of blood you lose is very small. Maybe it's because you are lying down and the heat etc.
thats because the pressure of the water holds the period flow back in but for me if its held back for to long i get really giddy n i feel like fainting. am talking abt bath tubs
the pressure of the water will hold it inside her.





The difference of air pressure and water pressure ensures that the blood will hold inside her in the bath.





It's good that she can talk to you about it though, thats the sign of a healthy relationship right there.

I think its the pressure of the water.
Tell her you thought the same thing too when you were her age, and you never quite found that out. She wont punish you for not knowing. xx
Think about the amount of water versus the amount of blood in the water. There will be blood, but because it is so much less, it is hardly noticeable.
Imagine if she cut herself badly , that would bleed and the water would fill with blood, but as you know a period is different. the blood is not pouring out of us - it really is only a few spots of blood that isnt gushing out. Just reasure her it wont happen and she has nothign to worry about.
If your period is normally light, then you probably won't bleed but I have bled in the bath numerous times. It's hard to notice.
Because it becomes lighter as the warm water soothes all period pains cramps etc
Although it may seem like there is a lot of blood being lost, the reality is that it's just a drop at at time. On average, during a normal period, you will lose only between 1 1/2 - 4 tablespoons, 25-60cc's of blood. That's only about a 1/4 cup total, and spread over 3-5 days. In the bath, the tiny amount of blood actually dilutes in the water until you just can't see it at all. Your flow still continues, it's just really spread out in the water. I suppose if it were only a tiny amount of water in the tub, and you sat there for a day it might turn slightly pink, but otherwise you just wouldn't have enough to notice.
well they do! just not noticable if the bleed is lite!
Actually the flow doesn't stop when in the bath, its just that the flow is only about 15 - 30mls a day and that little bit wouldn't generally colour the bath water that much so that it would be noticeable.
